Shalom Group of Schools organised an engaging workshop on “AI Integration in Teaching and Learning” on 30 March 2026 in the school auditorium for its teachers. The session aimed to introduce educators to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in education and to demonstrate how AI can support lesson planning, classroom engagement, assessment, and creative teaching practices.
The workshop was graced by our Sherpa & Vice Chairman-Mr Dennis George, whose presence encouraged teachers to explore new possibilities in education. The session was conducted by guest speaker Mr Willibrord George, who shared valuable insights on how AI can be effectively used by teachers in classrooms. He was warmly welcomed and felicitated by the Sherpa and Vice Chairman before beginning the session.
The workshop began on a reflective note with the song “Malik Sambhal Lena”, which was sung collectively by all participants. Teachers were then invited to write about the thoughts and emotions they experienced while listening to the song. This activity highlighted how reflection and emotional connection can be integrated into teaching and learning.
The session then moved into practical demonstrations of various Artificial Intelligence tools. Teachers explored how platforms like ChatGPT can be used through effective prompts to generate ideas, analyse situations, and assist in teaching tasks. Interactive activities were conducted to show how AI responds to prompts and how creatively it can be used in classrooms.
Participants also explored the Suno App, which demonstrated how AI can generate songs, encouraging teachers to use technology for creative classroom experiences. The workshop emphasised that meaningful change in education begins when teachers are willing to question traditional methods and explore innovative approaches.
A significant focus of the session was on how AI can support lesson planning. Teachers learned that AI tools can assist in creating structured lesson plans, generating question papers, preparing presentations, and even supporting correction and feedback. Various tools such as Gamma AI, Canva, Google AI Studio, Gemini Story Book, and HeyGen were introduced. During the session, a story was also created using Gemini Story Book, demonstrating how AI can help design engaging learning materials for students. The second part of the workshop focused on classroom implementation. Teachers learned about creating AI-based chatbots to handle repetitive tasks and about using CFU (Check for Understanding) to ensure effective learning outcomes. The use of Meta AI for providing feedback and responding efficiently was also discussed.
A key framework shared during the workshop was Discover – Develop – Deploy, encouraging teachers to discover ideas using AI, develop meaningful learning resources, and deploy them effectively in the classroom.
The workshop concluded with interactive demonstrations and discussions on the future of AI in education. The session conducted by Mr Willibrord George proved to be highly informative and inspiring for the teachers of the Shalom Group of Schools. The workshop reinforced the idea that Artificial Intelligence, when used thoughtfully, can become a powerful partner in teaching and learning, helping educators create more engaging, efficient, and future- ready classrooms.
