Collaborative Teaching

Special educators and teachers work together annually using co-teaching strategies to support students in inclusive classrooms. This involves joint lesson planning and delivery, differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and ongoing communication and collaboration between teachers throughout the year.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Each year, the curriculum and learning environments are designed to be accessible and effective for all students. This involves offering multiple means of representation (e.g., text, audio, video), allowing multiple means of expression (e.g., writing, speaking, drawing), and providing multiple means of engagement (e.g., choices, interests, self-regulation).

From Learning to Living: Exploring Life Skills

Regular Life skills sessions have been conducted with children in school to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge & attitudes to navigate various challenges and thrive in different aspects of life. These sessions classically cover numerous topics, including social interaction, critical thinking, personal development, coping with stress, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making. It has helped children to become more self-aware and understand their interests, strengths, weaknesses, and values.

Session on Respiratory Problems in Children in collaboration with Medanta Hospital

Shalom Presidency School hosted an awareness session for parents on “Respiratory Problems in Children” in collaboration with a team of specialists from Medanta Hospital. The session focused on helping parents identify early signs of respiratory distress, such as persistent cough, wheezing, and breathing difficulty, while also addressing common triggers like seasonal changes, dust, and food allergies. Experts shared practical prevention strategies, including maintaining an allergen-free home, reducing exposure to pollutants, and strengthening immunity through proper nutrition. The interactive format allowed parents to engage directly with the panel, ensuring their questions were addressed comprehensively. This initiative reinforced the school’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its students, building a strong partnership between parents, educators, and healthcare professionals.

Empowering Teachers: Drug and Substance Overuse Awareness Session

Shalom Presidency School took a proactive initiative on 18th January 2025 by organising an awareness session on Drug and Substance Overuse for its teachers. The session was conducted by Principal Ms. Monika Sharma and Counsellor Ms. Sonia Batra. It highlighted the crucial role of life skills in helping students develop confidence, assertiveness, and the ability to say “No” to harmful substances. Teachers were introduced to the Navchetna module, which provides structured guidance on conducting effective awareness programs. The discussion emphasised fostering a supportive and empathetic environment where students feel safe to make informed choices and resist peer pressure. Educators were encouraged to engage in open, understanding conversations with students, helping them adopt healthier lifestyles and preventing potential substance misuse.
