On October 7, 2024, Shalom Presidency School celebrated World Mental Health Day with a series of creative and meaningful activities, reaffirming its commitment to promoting emotional well-being among students. Learners from Grades III to XII engaged in age-appropriate sessions designed to foster self-awareness, emotional resilience, and open conversations on mental health.
For Grades III to V, the day brought an opportunity to express emotions through kite-making, bookmark crafting, and rock painting—hands-on projects that combined creativity with self-reflection. Students in Grades VI to VIII explored the concept of self-care by designing vision boards, resilience trees, and producing insightful podcasts, each highlighting the value of personal growth and emotional balance.
Senior students from Grades IX to XII took part in an interactive discussion, Navigating Emotions: A Talk on Mental Health, where they shared thoughtful perspectives and experiences, inspiring their peers to view mental health as an essential part of overall well-being.
The initiative extended into special assemblies led by Psychology students of Grades XI and XII. On October 8, an assembly was hosted for Grades VI to VIII, followed by a session for Grades IX to XII on October 9. Both assemblies reinforced the importance of mental health, equipping students with strategies for self-care and encouraging an ongoing culture of empathy, awareness, and mutual support.
Through creativity, dialogue, and reflection, the Mental Health Awareness Drive left a lasting impact, inspiring the Shalom community to prioritise emotional wellness every day.
