Puberty is a defining stage in every child’s life, marking the transition from childhood to adolescence. Recognising the importance of guiding students through these changes, Shalom Presidency School organised a workshop titled “Growing Great: Menstrual Hygiene” for Grade VI girls on October 24, 2024.
The session aimed to create awareness about the menstrual cycle, debunk prevalent myths, and address common concerns faced by young girls during this stage of life. Participants learned essential hygiene practices such as the use of clean sanitary products, proper disposal methods, and the importance of regular washing to prevent infections. The open, supportive environment encouraged students to ask questions freely, fostering confidence and comfort in discussing their changing bodies.
Beyond menstrual health, the workshop also covered the physical, emotional, mental, and social changes associated with puberty, empowering students with the knowledge and self-assurance needed to navigate this important life stage.
