Students of Shalom Presidency School participated in the one-day “Bio Connect: Hospital Exposure Programme” at Medanta Hospital, Sector 38, Gurugram, on 21^st August 2026. The programme offered Class XI and XII Biology students valuable first-hand exposure to hospital functioning and healthcare practices.

A key highlight was the Basic Life Support (BLS) session, where students learned essential CPR techniques and responses to choking emergencies in adults and infants. They also received practical training in medical and surgical hand hygiene, understanding its importance in infection control and patient safety.

Students visited the Emergency Department, Clinical Laboratory, Radiology, Histopathology Lab, and Blood Bank, gaining insights into triage, emergency care, diagnostic procedures, tissue processing, blood grouping, and storage.

The visit to the Hospital Kitchen and Pantry helped students understand the role of dieticians in planning therapeutic meals, along with food safety, hygiene, storage, and temperature-control practices.

Conducted under strict supervision, the programme enabled students to connect Biology concepts with real-life healthcare applications, while gaining awareness of diverse careers in medicine and allied healthcare fields. The internship concluded with a reflection and Q&A session, making Bio Connect a meaningful and enriching experiential learning opportunity.
