A Fire Extinguisher Drill was conducted on 13 January for teachers and supportive staff to enhance awareness and preparedness in managing fire-related emergencies within the school premises. The primary objective of the drill was to familiarise staff members with essential fire safety measures, various types of fire extinguishers, and their proper usage in emergencies.
The resource personnel elaborated on fire classifications, safety protocols, and precautionary measures to be followed in the event of a fire outbreak. Teachers and support staff actively participated and received hands-on training in operating fire extinguishers using the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep). Special emphasis was laid on remaining calm, prioritising student safety, and responding promptly and responsibly during emergencies.
The drill proved to be both informative and practical, reinforcing the importance of preparedness, coordination, and teamwork. Such safety initiatives play a vital role in ensuring a safe, secure, and well-prepared school environment.
