As part of the CBSE Kaushal Bodh Project, Shalom Presidency School organised an engaging Hydroponics Workshop for the students of Grade VIII on 22nd July 2026 in the Conference Hall. The session was conducted by Ms. Hema from TarUsha Farms, Gurugram, who introduced students to the fascinating world of soilless farming and sustainable agricultural practices.

The workshop featured two interactive hands-on activities. Students first explored the Wick Method of hydroponics, gaining an understanding of its setup and working. They then participated in a seed-sowing activity, planting seeds in tumblers to observe germination and plant growth in a hydroponic environment.

Working collaboratively in groups, the students displayed great enthusiasm, actively participated in discussions, responded to questions, and eagerly clarified their doubts throughout the session. To reinforce their learning, each participant received a Kaushal Bodh worksheet booklet, which will be completed during subsequent classroom sessions.

The workshop served as an enriching introduction to innovative and sustainable farming techniques, encouraging students to appreciate the role of technology in agriculture. The learning journey will continue in August 2026 with the second phase of the programme, during which students will visit TarUsha Farms for firsthand exposure to large-scale hydroponic farming practices.
