Shalom Presidency School, in collaboration with the Public Health Foundation of India, conducted an engaging and informative session on “Climate Change and Its Health Impacts” for students in Grades VI to VIII on 30 April 2026.
The session was led by a distinguished panel comprising Dr. Preeti Negandhi (Professor and Chair, JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health), Dr. Sandeep Kaur, and Ms Anushka Rajvansh. The objective of the session was to sensitise students to the concept of climate change and help them understand its direct and indirect impact on human health, particularly among children, while encouraging them to adopt responsible and sustainable practices.
The interactive session included age-appropriate explanations, real-life examples, and discussions on key topics such as air pollution, heat stress, waste management, hygiene, and environmental sustainability. Students were also guided on simple yet effective actions they can take to contribute towards a healthier environment.
The session proved to be highly insightful and engaging, fostering awareness and empowering students to become responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.
