Igniting Young Leaders: Interact Club Installation at Shalom

On 29th August 2025, Shalom Presidency School, Gurugram, celebrated a significant milestone with the installation ceremony of its Interact Club, held in the Conference Room. The occasion was graced by distinguished guests from Rotary Club Gurugram, Qutub Enclave, including President Mr. Sunil Verma, Mrs. Neera Verma, Mr. Sunil Khanna, Mr. Kapil Pahuja, Captain Surender Chowdhry, Mrs. Anju Khanna, Mrs. Meeta Ghosh, and Mrs. Rita Mittal.

The ceremony began with a soulful prayer and a harmonious presentation by the Shalom Band, creating an inspiring atmosphere. The central moment of the event was the formal installation of office bearers through badge pinning and oath-taking, embodying the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self.”

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sunil Verma motivated students to lead with empathy, responsibility, and a vision for positive change. The ceremony stood as a testament to Shalom’s unwavering commitment to shaping responsible and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.

Ankur Warikoo Inspires Shalomites at an Exclusive Session on Life Lessons

On August 27, 2025, Shalom Group of Schools proudly hosted an enriching interactive session with Mr. Ankur Warikoo, a renowned entrepreneur, mentor, author of Beyond the Syllabus, and one of India’s most celebrated thought leaders. The event aimed to empower students with insights into life, choices, and success beyond academics.

The session began with a gratitude to the distinguished Founder, Dr. Mrs. Lilly George, whose visionary guidance continues to inspire generations, Sherpa & Vice Chairman - Mr. Dennis George, a beacon of purposeful leadership, and Director, Mrs. Karishma George, the driving force of innovation at Shalom.

Mr. Warikoo captivated the audience with his candid storytelling and actionable wisdom, sharing lessons on decision-making, resilience, and navigating life’s uncertainties. His engaging anecdotes and relatable perspectives struck a chord with students, encouraging them to dream fearlessly and act intentionally.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Mr. Warikoo by Our Sherpa-Mr. Dennis George, followed by an interactive Q&A session where students sought guidance on real-life challenges. The program concluded with the key takeaway: “Grades define a year, but habits define a lifetime.”

The day ended on an inspiring note, with Mr. Warikoo signing copies of his latest book, making the experience unforgettable for all.

Guiding Futures: Counselling Session for Grade XI Students

Shalom Presidency School, in collaboration with High School Moms, hosted an Individual Counselling Session for Grade XI students on Monday, 1st September 2025. The session aimed at providing clarity on career pathways, subject choices, and higher education opportunities.

The event was envisioned under the inspirational guidance of our Founder, Dr Mrs Lilly George, whose constant emphasis on holistic growth ensures such opportunities for our learners. It was further strengthened by the steadfast leadership of our Sherpa & Vice Chairman-Mr. Dennis George, whose leadership drives every initiative at Shalom Presidency.

Parents and students of Grade XI actively participated, sharing positive feedback and acknowledging that the session was both insightful and worthwhile in addressing their queries. Students expressed happiness and a renewed sense of confidence in planning their career paths.

Access USA Brings Global Leadership Insights to Shalom Presidency

As part of the visionary initiative Shalom 2.0 and in collaboration with the prestigious Access USA Program, Shalom Presidency School organised an exclusive workshop on Global Leadership and Public Presentation on Monday, August 25, 2025, in the school auditorium.

This transformative initiative was made possible by the dynamic guidance of our esteemed Founder, Dr. Mrs. Lilly George, and the global reach and visionary leadership of our Sherpa & Vice Chairman-Mr. Dennis George, who continues to steer Shalom towards international excellence.

Two eminent international guest faculty members graced the session:

Ms. Hannah Fathman, from Albion College

The two-hour workshop was meticulously designed to provide students with a blend of theoretical insights and practical exposure. The first segment featured an engaging lecture introducing leadership frameworks and foundational presentation techniques. This was followed by interactive group activities, including discussions, team-based exercises, simulation scenarios, profile drafting, and public speaking practice, co-led by the distinguished speakers.

Students also gained valuable information about the Access USA Program, which offers unique benefits such as guaranteed admission to 20+ U.S. universities, SAT/ACT waivers for partner universities, opportunities to earn U.S. university credits in high school, and direct engagement with global faculty.

The workshop proved to be a transformative experience, fostering confidence, leadership, and communication skills among students, while opening doors to international academic pathways.

Empowering Schools with Safety: A Session on NDMA Guidelines

“Preparedness is not a choice, it’s a necessity.”

On August 23, 2025, Shalom Presidency hosted an insightful session on the National Disaster Management Guidelines – School Safety Policy, led by the dynamic facilitator, Mr. Lucky Pushrat. The session brought together our dedicated faculty to reinforce the principles of preparedness, prevention, and emotional resilience in times of crisis.

Teachers explored how simple, proactive steps, such as regular checks, evacuation drills, and disaster-ready excursion plans, can make a world of difference when every second counts.

The session concluded with clear action points: updating evacuation maps, scheduling safety checks, and embedding mindfulness into daily routines. Teachers pledged to not just teach but model resilience for their students.

Career Guidance Workshop by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India

Shalom Presidency School, in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), organised an insightful Career Guidance Workshop on 6 August 2025. The session was conducted by CS Ram Sahay, Chairman of the Managing Committee of the Gurugram Chapter, Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of ICSI.

Addressing the students of Grades XI and XII, Mr. Sahay provided a comprehensive overview of the Company Secretary (CS) profession, highlighting its significance in the corporate sector, the academic path to pursue it, and the personal attributes essential for success in the field. He elaborated on career opportunities, real-world applications, and the role of CS professionals in ensuring legal compliance, corporate governance, and ethical business practices.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic student participation, with queries on the course structure, scope, and prospects being addressed with clarity. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, extending gratitude to Mr. Sahay, the ICSI team, and the school leadership for facilitating such a valuable learning opportunity.

The session successfully reinforced the school’s commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed career choices.

Awaaz: Voices Against Bullying – Empowering Courage, Inspiring Change

An impactful Anti-Bullying Awareness Presentation titled “Awaaz: Raise It Right” was conducted by the members of the Anti-Bullying Squad on Wednesday, 30th July 2025 in the school Campus. The initiative aimed to sensitize students to the seriousness of bullying and emphasise the importance of raising one’s voice against it.

A major highlight of the programme was a powerful Nukkad-Natak performed by the squad members, portraying different forms of bullying and their emotional consequences. The play effectively conveyed the message of standing up against injustice with empathy, unity, and courage. This was followed by the formal introduction and welcome of the Anti-Bullying Squad, a team committed to fostering a safe and respectful school environment.

This meaningful initiative was inspired by the vision of our Sherpa & Vice Chairman – Mr. Dennis George, whose unwavering commitment to student well-being led to the formation of the Anti-Bullying Squad. His continued support empowers students to take ownership of building a compassionate, bully-free school culture.

The session concluded with a collective pledge to “Raise It Right” and to always speak up against bullying.

Rooted to Rise: A Resilience-Building Journey with Pepperdine University

At Shalom, every opportunity is a stepping stone to growth, and this one was truly special. We express our heartfelt gratitude to our Founder, Dr. (Mrs.) Lilly George, whose vision and commitment to global exposure brought this enriching experience to life. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our Sherpa, and Vice Chairman, Mr. Dennis George, whose constant encouragement and insightful guidance continue to provide our students with meaningful opportunities to excel and grow into confident global citizens.

On Friday, 25th July 2025, Shalom Presidency School had the honour of hosting two distinguished professors from Pepperdine University, California — Dr. Connie Lynn Burrows Horton and Dr. Stacy Won Lee. The dynamic duo conducted two powerful sessions on “Roadmap to Resilience” for students of Grades 9 and 11 from Shalom Presidency and Shalom Hills International School.

The sessions dove deep into the meaning of resilience, introducing students to the six dimensions of RISE Resilience:

  • Social – Strengthening connections with others
  • Physical – Prioritising health and well-being
  • Cognitive – Embracing a growth mindset and meeting challenges head-on
  • Spiritual – Managing time, tech, and finances with intention
  • Life Skills – Practicing gratitude and finding peace in nature
  • Service – Making an impact through acts of kindness

Students also learned simple, actionable strategies to enhance resilience: Mindful belly breaths, handheld affirmations, resourcing, mindful steps, cool-down and hydration techniques, and the powerful practice to pause, breathe, and reflect.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round, allowing students to ask questions, share reflections, and connect meaningfully with the professors.

It was a day of inspiration, introspection, and insight, leaving every student a little more grounded and a lot more ready to rise.

Aqua Zumba: A Splash of Fitness and Fun at Shalom Presidency

On 24th May 2025, the campus of Shalom Presidency School came alive with energy, rhythm, and refreshing splashes as it hosted a vibrant Aqua Zumba session exclusively for mothers. With nearly 40 enthusiastic participants, the event was a celebration of fitness, fun, and community spirit.

Led by a certified instructor, the session combined lively Zumba moves with water's cooling resistance, creating a unique and invigorating workout experience. The pool became a high- energy zone where music met movement, and laughter echoed with every splash.

More than just a fitness routine, the session was designed to promote wellness, encourage self- care, and strengthen the bond between the school and its parent community. The spirited participation and positive vibes made it a truly memorable event.

Shalom Presidency applauds the enthusiasm of all the wonderful mothers who made this event a splash hit and looks forward to hosting more such uplifting experiences in the future.
