Overview:
The National Youth Parliament was held in the auditorium on the morning of April 19, 2024. The event brought together young Students from grade 9-12 to participate in a simulation of parliamentary proceedings. This event aimed to provide a platform for young people to engage in democratic processes and discuss issues of national and international importance.

27 participants (Grade 9-12)

Proceedings:
Opening Ceremony: The event began with an opening ceremony, which included a welcome address by the Respected Principal. She highlighted the importance of youth participation in democratic processes and encouraged participants to engage actively in the proceedings. Debate Sessions: The main part of the event involved debate sessions where participants discussed a variety of topics. These topics included education reform, climate change, economic development, and youth employment. Each participant had the opportunity to express their views and contribute to the discussions.
Resolution Proposals:
Participants also had the chance to propose resolutions on the discussed topics. The resolutions were debated, and participants voted on them. The resolutions that received majority support were passed.
Closing Remarks: The event concluded with closing remarks from the Speaker (Rakshita Lohia, Alumni) . she expressed their appreciation for the participants' enthusiasm and engagement and encouraged them to continue being active in civic and political issues.
Outcomes:
Participants gained valuable experience in public speaking, debate, and parliamentary procedures.
Several resolutions were passed, reflecting the concerns and priorities of the youth participants. The event fostered networking and collaboration among young people from different backgrounds.
Feedback:
Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to voice their opinions and engage in meaningful discussions.
Some participants suggested more frequent events to continue providing platforms for youth involvement in governance.
Conclusion:
The National Youth Parliament was a successful event that provided young people with a platform to discuss important issues and gain insight into parliamentary procedures. The organizers expressed their intention to hold similar events in the future to continue fostering youth engagement in democratic processes.
