On April 8, 2025, Shalom Presidency School took a significant stride in its commitment to holistic student development by hosting a Cancer Awareness Program in collaboration with the esteemed Medanta Hospital. The event, held on the school premises, aimed to sensitise students about cancer prevention, with a special focus on colon cancer, which is often overlooked in early education.

The session began with an engaging interaction led by Ms. Lavanya, who delivered an articulate presentation on the importance of early awareness, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular screening. Her approachable manner encouraged curiosity and thoughtful discussion.

This was followed by a compelling talk by a renowned oncologist from Medanta Hospital, who shared valuable insights on the causes, symptoms, and preventive strategies related to different forms of cancer. The session was clear, informative, and deeply impactful.

A quiz was conducted to reinforce learning, adding an element of fun while testing students’ grasp of key concepts discussed. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the session’s effectiveness.
