On April 23, 2025, the Conference Room at Shalom Presidency School came alive with vibrant energy as students from Classes VI to VIII participated in the Millet Mindfulness Activity—a celebration of health, tradition, and sustainability. This thoughtfully curated event served as a platform for students to explore the nutritional and environmental benefits of millets, in line with the United Nations’ declaration of the International Year of Millets.
The young chefs presented a colorful and diverse spread of millet-based dishes, showcasing not only their culinary flair but also a commendable understanding of healthy eating. The dishes were assessed by a panel of esteemed judges on the basis of taste, presentation, and nutritional value. Their expert insights offered the students meaningful feedback and encouraged mindful engagement with food.
Principal Ma’am commended the students for their creativity and commitment to well-being. She emphasised the power of informed food choices in building a sustainable future and nurturing lifelong wellness habits.
The activity seamlessly blended learning with real-world application, reinforcing the school’s vision of holistic education. By reconnecting with traditional grains and understanding their relevance in today’s world, the students truly sowed the seeds of wellness—one mindful meal at a time.
