On 22nd August 2025, Shalom Presidency School hosted an engaging and thought-provoking event, “Frontline Reporting: Navigating the Challenges of Journalism,” in the school auditorium. This unique Newsroom Simulation Competition aimed to immerse students in the dynamic world of journalism, offering them a platform to showcase their reporting skills and experience the challenges faced by modern newsrooms.
The competition saw 100% participation from Grade XI and XII Humanities students, reflecting their enthusiasm and passion for media and communication. Participants worked in teams, replicating real newsroom environments where they were required to report, edit, and present news stories under tight deadlines.
All teams performed exceptionally well, but the top honors went to:
1st Place: Team World Scope Media (Ayana Chopra, Christa, Arshiya)
2nd Place: Team ZNN (Nandini, Zubin, Navya Punia)
3rd Place: Team Aaj Kal (Tanishk, Garvit, Arman Kapoor)
The competition proved to be an enriching and experiential learning opportunity, igniting interest in journalism while enhancing research, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. The overwhelming participation and high level of engagement made the event a resounding success.
