“Every child learns differently — and that’s the beauty of education.” With this belief, Shalom Presidency School continues its journey toward inclusive and effective teaching practices. Under the inspiring guidance of our visionary Founder, Dr. Lilly George, the school consistently strives to empower educators with innovative pedagogies that address the varied learning needs of every student.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Sherpa and Vice Chairman, Mr. Dennis George, whose leadership and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in initiating the concept of Differentiated Learning across all grades. His continuous support motivates teachers to design lessons that nurture potential and ensure meaningful progress for every learner.
The workshop on Differentiated Learning, held on 25th October 2025 at the Conference Hall, Shalom Presidency School, was conducted by the SHIS Team and proved to be an enlightening and interactive experience for all educators. The session began with a lively warm-up activity that encouraged collaboration and reflection on current classroom practices. This was followed by a detailed explanation of the concept and importance of differentiated learning, highlighting how it caters to students’ varied readiness levels, interests, and learning profiles.
Educators were introduced to the Anchor Framework, which emphasizes differentiation through Content, Process, and Product. Each element was discussed with practical examples and subject-specific strategies that can be applied to daily teaching. Teachers learned to design lessons and activities for students across four tiers (T1–Below 40%, T2–40–60%, T3–60–80%, T4–Above 80%), ensuring that each learner receives the right balance of challenge and support. The facilitators also guided teachers on developing progressive worksheets — moving from easy to complex tasks—to help bridge learning gaps effectively. Furthermore, the Differentiated Question Framework for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners was discussed in depth, emphasizing how questioning techniques can stimulate critical thinking at all levels.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion and reflection, where teachers shared ideas on integrating differentiation in their classrooms. The session left everyone motivated and equipped with innovative strategies to make learning more inclusive, engaging, and student- centered, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to excel.
