Shalom Presidency School participated in an impactful awareness event organised by PETA India in collaboration with Go Sharpener, highlighting the cruelty against elephants and advocating for their protection.
The participating students assembled at Janpath Metro Station, Gate No. 2, where they attended an informative briefing on issues such as poaching, forced labour, and habitat loss. As part of the event requirements, the students changed out of their school uniforms into grey T-shirts and pants provided by the organisers, and each received a geometric elephant mask symbolising solidarity with the cause.
The event garnered attention from local press and digital media, providing a platform for the students to confidently share their viewpoints, which were appreciated for clarity and compassion. The participants — Saanchi Sachin Behede (9), Gourangi Gupta (9), Daivik Batra (9), Manya Sinha (9), and Armaan Kapoor (9) — represented the school with enthusiasm and responsibility.
Overall, the event successfully raised awareness about elephant welfare and reflected the students’ commitment to animal protection, further strengthening their sense of empathy and environmental responsibility.
