Galaxy Wing at Shalom Presidency School commemorated Gandhi Jayanti with a meaningful celebration that introduced our young learners to the timeless values and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

The celebration began with a special assembly presented by the Nursery students on 1 October 2026. Through age-appropriate presentations, the little learners explored the teachings of Bapu and highlighted values such as truth, kindness, simplicity, cleanliness and respect for others.

Continuing the spirit of the occasion, the LKG and UKG students participated in a Show and Tell activity on the theme “Swachh Bharat – Bapu’s Teachings.” With confidence and enthusiasm, the young speakers shared their understanding of cleanliness, personal responsibility and the importance of caring for their surroundings.

The celebration was thoughtfully designed to move beyond remembering Gandhi Ji as a historical figure. It encouraged students to understand how his principles remain relevant in everyday life and connect with essential competencies such as communication, confidence, collaboration, empathy, responsibility and mindful citizenship.

The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that values are best learned when they are understood, expressed and practised. Through these engaging activities, our young learners were inspired to carry forward Bapu’s message of truth, cleanliness, kindness and responsible citizenship in their daily lives.

It was truly a day of remembering Bapu, reflecting on his teachings and inspiring young minds to become thoughtful and responsible citizens of tomorrow.
