The Galaxy Wing reverberated with colour, energy, and national pride as our little Shalomites celebrated Independence Day on August 14, 2025. The celebration was designed around experiential learning and joyful participation, enabling children to connect deeply with the spirit of freedom.
The day unfolded with a spectrum of engaging activities. Children enthusiastically created and decorated their own kites using the tearing-and-pasting technique. This hands-on activity not only honed their fine motor skills but also beautifully symbolized the spirit of soaring high with freedom and dreams. Adding flavour to the celebration, a “Tricolour Pop” little chef activity saw the young ones craft a healthy delight with cheese, cucumber, and tomato.
Classrooms glowed in the hues of the tricolour—orange, white, and green—radiating unity and pride. The atmosphere further came alive with patriotic songs and rhymes, where the heartfelt performance on “Nanha Munna Rahi Hoon” stole the show.
Another highlight of the day was the Role Play & Show and Tell session, where children dressed as national heroes—Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmi Bai, among others—and shared a few lines about their chosen character. This not only deepened their understanding of history but also nurtured their confidence and oratory skills.
The Independence Day celebrations at the Galaxy Wing were a perfect blend of patriotism, creativity, and values, leaving the young learners inspired to carry forward the true essence of freedom.
