Founders' Day Celebration: A Grand Celebration of the Shalom Spirit
The Founders' Day Celebration, held on 14 August, was a grand and memorable celebration that brought together the entire Shalom family in an atmosphere of joy, pride, gratitude, and togetherness. The morning was a vibrant showcase of Shalom's rich legacy, culture, talent, and collective spirit, celebrating the vision and values that continue to inspire the Shalom community.
The celebration commenced with a grand ceremonial welcome to our respected Founder, Dr. Lilly George, fondly known as our "Mother Darling," whose vision and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in shaping the Shalom legacy. She was warmly welcomed alongside our Sherpa and Vice Chairman, Mr. Dennis George; Director, Ms. Karishma George; and esteemed members of the George family. Their presence added immense warmth and significance to the occasion.
The programme opened with a magnificent Chenda drum performance, creating an energetic and celebratory atmosphere. This was followed by a warm welcome by the school team, a student bouquet presentation, an alumni greeting, and a grand aisle welcome by the SHIS boys.
The cultural extravaganza began with a captivating South Indian dance by the SHIS boys, celebrating the richness and diversity of Indian culture. The Margam Kali performance by the SPS girls followed, bringing grace, tradition, and vibrant energy to the stage. The celebrations continued with the launch of the Shalom Anthem, followed by a soulful musical tribute by SGOS.
The audience was then treated to a spectacular array of dance performances. The Russian Dance – "A Celebration of Grace" and the Classical Dance – "Grace & Tradition", presented by SHIS, beautifully showcased elegance, discipline, and artistic expression.
One of the most powerful highlights of the celebration was "Draupadi: Then & Now," a spectacular musical ballet presented by SPS. Blending storytelling, music, dance, and contemporary expression, the presentation brought alive the timeless strength, resilience, and spirit of Draupadi, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
The celebration continued with a special tribute dance by the Dance Department of SGOS, followed by "Bharat Ki Beti," presented by SPS students of Grades III–VI. The performance celebrated the strength, aspirations, courage, and limitless potential of India's daughters.
The grand celebration culminated in the much-anticipated Grand Finale – "The Shalom Spirit." Teachers came together in a lively and energetic musical presentation, creating a joyous celebration of unity and belonging. The collective performance by the teachers reflected the deep bond shared by the Shalom family and brought the programme to a memorable and emotional conclusion.
The Founders' Day Celebration was a magnificent amalgamation of tradition, culture, music, dance, talent, and togetherness. More than a celebration, it was a heartfelt tribute to the vision of our Founder, the leadership of the George family, and the enduring values that form the foundation of Shalom.
The morning left everyone with cherished memories and a renewed sense of pride, gratitude, and belonging to the Shalom family. It was truly a grand celebration of the Shalom Spirit—a spirit that continues to inspire, unite, and lead.
